Floral Princess is a love tradegy about Princess Ceong-Ping of the late-Ming Dynasty and her fiancé Zau. Under the Qing regime, they strive to uphold their national dignity, and suicide at the night of their wedding. Hundreds of years after the events that inspired Floral Princess, human civilization has had great progression, yet there are still on-going political instability, conflicts and wars. No one can preddict what will happen, everything could change tomorrow.
What would Princess Ceong-Ping be like in the 21st century? Romance is not exclusive to royalty, and everyone's ordinary lives might be threatened anytime just like the late-Ming Princess. Princess Ceong-Ping is no longer an identity that can only be borne by Chinese, Princess Ceong-Ping can be anyone.
